Don’t Ask Why

Don't ask why.

Submission appeals to responsible, hard working and independent women, because it takes them to a world free from those pressures.

Why does it only have to be one way? Of course the statement above can be true. For. Some. People.

I know people are more comfortable when then can label and categorize but why do we always need to do that? Trying to understand why we are the way we can be helpful I suppose. But mostly I find it just gets in the way of being who we are. Of accepting ourselves without regard of how society views us.

This does not mean that we can just do as we will. We must respect that we have to hold ourselves responsible to a standard of decency, not ones of religion or of law. But the ones of basic human behavior. Always obtain fully informed consent, never harm another.

Beyond that what does it really matter why you or others have the sexual desires you do? Does it change how you feel about yourself if you can point to a reason? I know that I struggled a long time with my kinky desires. How could it turn me on to want a woman to submit to me? To want to bruise and hurt her even if she wanted it?

I did finally come to understand that consent made it ok and that no matter what other people said I wasn’t a bad person for having those desires and that I didn’t need to spend my time searching for the reason that I was different than other people. I just had to accept that I was and that to find others who could accept me as I was, was enough.

There are as many reason for kink and desire as there are stars in the sky and all of them are valid for someone. We don’t need to try to understand the why, just that we enjoy what we do with those who enjoy doing those things with us and be content with that.

I don’t care why I like kink even though most of the world thinks it is a bad thing. Just like I don’t care why I like milk in spite of reading that grown men aren’t supposed to like milk. Just like I don’t care that the things that other people like are strange, like pickled eggplant. We are all different people with different tastes and desires. That is what makes the world an interesting place. So I avoid the boxes that the world wants to put us in and just blaze my own trail as you should blaze your own. I embrace my desires and I encourage you to embrace your own.

Don’t ask why.

Michael.
